As a Cadet Non-Certified Correctional Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and monitoring the activities of inmates or detainees in various areas, including living quarters, recreation spaces, dining halls, and visitation zones. Your primary responsibilities will involve coordinating inmate or detainee movements, conducting regular counts, and providing emergency response as needed.

In this dynamic position, you may be assigned to various posts such as the control room, front entrance, health services, special housing, perimeter safety, transportation, work details, reception, intake and visits officer, etc., as required by management. You will also be expected to:

  • Ensure safety during program activities and supervise labor crews in various areas around the facility.
  • Conduct shakedowns for contraband materials and confiscate items in accordance with facility policies.
  • Initiate disciplinary reports on inmates or detainees.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and prepare reports as required.
  • Provide prompt assistance to inmates or detainees in case of injury, illness, or trauma.
  • Promote facility cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
  • Participate in special teams responding to emergencies.
  • Complete training courses as per facility standards.
  • Perform correctional duties for any shift as defined by management.
