Job Summary:

As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality radiologic examinations in various settings, including radiology, emergency department, surgery, and portable bedside services. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring accurate and efficient imaging procedures, while maintaining a patient-centered approach.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform radiologic examinations according to departmental protocols, utilizing your knowledge of imaging modalities and patient positioning techniques.
  • Review patient orders, correlate clinical history with exam requirements, and consult with radiologists and registered nurses as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and confidentiality by following National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining accurate documentation in the Radiology Information System.
  • Assist with screening patients for contraindications, prepare sterile fields and contrast agents, and maintain adequate supplies during procedures.
  • Operate and understand the features of general radiology, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging systems, and assist radiologists during fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Post-process and review images as required, prepare images for radiologist interpretation, and transmit images to the Diagnostic Imaging PACS system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of department equipment and devices, report equipment malfunctions, and participate in resuscitation teams during Code Blue and/or Rapid Response Team situations.
  • Provide service-oriented communication with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions, while maintaining a personalized and compassionate patient care atmosphere.
  • Apply radiation safety measures, record fluoroscopy time used during procedures, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:
  • Associates degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school or two years of directly related experience.
  • Radiographer License (Hawaii) required at hire, Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, and Radiologic Technologist Certification required at hire from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery experience.
