Correctional Lieutenant

Job Summary:

The Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Lieutenant to serve as a Tactical Response Coordinator. This role will be responsible for exercising independence and initiative in performing complex sensitive assignments related to the oversight, development, and training for the Alarm Response (Riot Control) program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consistently exercise independence and initiative in performing complex sensitive assignments.
• Develop and implement training programs for the Alarm Response (Riot Control) program.
• Coordinate and participate in assignments related to California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) security, Office of Correctional Safety (OCS) field support, and law enforcement mutual aid and emergency operations.
• Perform complex staff assignments related to departmental special operations.

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of mandated training subjects, communication/training techniques, and institution security and program operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
