We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Architectural/Forensic Engineer to join our team at Synerfac. As a key member of our Forensic Engineering Department, you will be responsible for investigating buildings and structures that are failing or aging.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the investigation and repair design for buildings with structural failures. They will be competent communicators, skilled at speaking to different audiences, including adjusters, attorneys, general contractors, facility managers, and owners.

This position could be based out of our Allentown, Phoenixville, or Mechanicsburg offices.

Responsibilities:
  • Project management from intake to invoicing;
  • Assessments of residential and commercial structural components and building envelopes;
  • Performing detailed inspections;
  • Taking notes and photographs;
  • Preparing written reports;
  • Preparing designs and drawings for repairs;
  • Coordination with owners, facility managers, and general contractors;
  • Responding to emergency investigation requests 24-7, which may impact public safety;
  • Training and mentoring of junior staff.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Architectural Engineering or Structural, or related engineering;
  • Experience in structural or architectural design;
  • Experience in assessment and repair design of building envelopes and facades, parking garages, bridges, buildings;
  • Experience in preparation of technical specifications;
  • Experience with insurance investigation of roof or structure damage due to hail, wind, water, fire, etc.;
  • HAAG roofing certifications (preferred);
  • Experience with structural analysis software (preferred);
  • Current Professional Engineering or Architect license in PA, NJ, DE, MD (or ability to obtain it);
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Ability to carry a lb. ladder;
  • Be comfortable with heights and walking on sloped roofs;
  • Ability to obtain PA Act 34, 114, and 151 Clearances.
