Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnography Technologist II to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our Sleep Disorder Center, you will be responsible for performing basic polysomnographic testing procedures, setting up and initiating sleep-related therapies, and scoring sleep study procedures in accordance with AASM Scoring Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and score sleep study procedures, including home sleep testing, in accordance with physician's orders and departmental policy.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment within your realm of knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers regarding patient, equipment, and other issues.
  • Obtain all required patient information and consent prior to performing sleep studies.
  • Document patient education for home sleep studies.
  • Initiate, monitor, and perform quality sleep studies.
  • Adhere to department time and attendance standards and infection control practices.
  • Assist with employee education and orientation of new employees and serve as a preceptor for students.
  • Meet average scoring volume requirements and inter-scorer reliability goals established by the Medical Director.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a school approved by the American Medical Association or a successor accrediting authority.
  • Two years of polysomnographic work experience.
  • RPSGT credential by BRPT and/or Respiratory Care Practitioner in SC with CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS credential by the NBRC must be maintained.
  • BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in sleep medicine and/or respiratory care.
