Job Description:

This Clinical Authorization Advisor role is responsible for providing expert clinical guidance and support to the Precertification Department in managing complex authorization issues.

The successful candidate will utilize their extensive clinical knowledge to analyze and resolve authorization issues, ensuring that patients receive timely access to necessary medical treatments and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The advisor will collaborate closely with the Patient Access team to identify and resolve precertification/authorization issues efficiently.
  • They will conduct thorough reviews of financial/insurance information to ensure payer requirements are met.
  • Orienting payers through the process of obtaining the appropriate referrals, pre-certification/authorization to optimize reimbursement and avoid payment penalties is a critical component of this role.

Compensation:

Estimated annual salary range: $100,000 - $125,000 based on location and experience.

Education and Experience:

  • A Graduate of an accredited RN program is mandatory for this position.
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing or other clinical healthcare field is desired.
  • Three years recent experience with Utilization Review in a hospital or insurance company setting is crucial.
  • Two years experience in oncological authorization/precertification is highly valued.
