Chesapeake Shipbuilding Corp is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. As a key member of our shipyard crew, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing painting labor to complete construction associated with building cruise ships and tug boats.
Key Responsibilities- Surface preparation, including picking up trash and steel, vacuuming out water in the hull deck, hand tool cleaning, and power tool cleaning
- Use of professional coating applications, including primers, intermediate coats, and finish coats
- Maintain Sandblasting and Painting Equipment, including Blast Pots, Blast Hoses, Blast Nozzles, Spray Pumps, Spray Hoses, and guns and tips
- Always Practice Proper Safety Procedures and follow instructions from foreman/supervisors on site
- Ability to use upper and lower extremities, work outside in heat, inclement weather, and cold, and crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend around and under equipment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Normal level of visual acuity, ability to understand and follow directions, and normal hearing level
- Competitive Pay – $28.00 depending on experience
- Single and Family Medical + Dental + Vision Full-time employees are eligible for benefits the 1st of the month proceeding start date

- $1,000 signing bonus for full-time positions Paid in two increments after 60 and 180 days of continuous employment
