Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Protective Investigations Officer to join our team at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. As a CPI Investigator Trainee, you will be responsible for conducting forensic investigations of reports of abuse/neglect to children to determine if abuse or neglect occurred and conducts assessments to determine the current or future risk of harm to children.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children who may be in an abusive or neglectful situation.
• Conducts interviews with people in the case, including parents, caregivers, and others familiar with the family situation.
• Assesses child safety and takes necessary actions to protect the child, such as removing the child from their family.
