Manufacturing Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a key member of our Manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in building world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles.
In this position, you will apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Manufacturing Process Engineering activity
- Driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
- Applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products
- Developing action plans to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes
- Leading and conducting process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with guidelines
- Conducting job ergonomic evaluations and delivering corrective actions as required
- Analyzing vehicle inventory root causes and engaging in mapping and corrective actions to reduce vehicle inventory
- Creating process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes
- Delivering capable processes and tools for Trim and Chassis Assembly operations
- Leading variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices
- Ensuring compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards
- Backing up ISO 14001 compliance and supporting internal ISO auditing and compliance as required
- Supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
- Identifying throughput constraints and driving root cause improvements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 or more years' experience working in a manufacturing environment (internship and coop experience will be considered)
Even better, you may have:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- 2 or more years in the automotive industry
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
- Familiarity with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience
- Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen Methods
- FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
- Validated experience with Visual Factory Management
- Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills
