Job Title: Tax Director

RightWorks Inc is seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to lead our tax team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for directing engagements, coordinating with staff, and supervising a team assigned to these engagements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare various tax returns, including individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate returns.
  • Perform tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research.
  • Identify tax risk management issues and propose potential solutions through research and collaboration with engagement Partners.
  • Review tax procedures and financial statements with no supervision.
  • Facilitate tax review of returns and audits for accuracy of data and communication.
  • Monitor tasks assigned to the team, ensuring that all questions are answered, and clarity of communication is maintained.
  • Oversee the team and coordinate the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-up.
  • Communicate to Partners any client issues and work status to ensure timeliness.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (Required).
  • CPA (Required).
  • At least 10 years of experience in a CPA firm with 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products (Preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and inspire a team to drive results through efficiencies.
  • Strong experience using Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and Intuit QuickBooks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Able to provide positive feedback, constructive direction through proper coaching and mentoring.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to prioritize and assign tasks based on the skill set of the team.
  • High degree of decision making.
  • Consistent communication with Partners, Clients, and the team to ensure that desired results are timely, accurate, and perceived as positive in nature.

Work Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday in office from 9:00am - 5:30pm with increased hours for busy seasons.
