Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct security assessments and penetration testing on telematics boxes, including firmware, software, hardware interfaces, and communication protocols.
  • Identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities, including those related to wireless communication (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), CAN bus, GPS, and cellular networks.
  • Conduct vulnerability analysis of embedded systems, including reverse engineering.
  • Simulate and assess potential attack vectors such as spoofing, tampering, information disclosure, and denial of service (DoS).

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that security testing is aligned with automotive industry standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29, and AUTOSAR.
  • Provide recommendations for meeting regulatory requirements and improving overall system security.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in penetration testing, preferably in the automotive or embedded systems industry.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, including hardware, firmware, and software components.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in using penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Wireshark, Nmap, and CANalyzer.
    • Experience with reverse engineering tools like Ghidra or IDA Pro.
    • Familiarity with automotive-specific protocols and tools (e.g., CAN, LIN, UDS, J1939).
    • Experience with wireless security testing (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3GPP).
  • Regulations & Standards Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of ISO/SAE Road vehicles – Cybersecurity engineering).
    • Familiarity with UNECE WP.29 cybersecurity regulations.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
    • OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)
    • GIAC GPEN (Penetration Tester)
    • Automotive Cybersecurity certification
