Key Responsibilities
  • Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care
  • Implement treatment plans and adjust exercises as directed by the Physical Therapist, ensuring patient well-being is the top priority
  • Instructs, motivates and Assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities
  • Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs
  • Communicates effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care
  • Maintains accurate and comprehensive patient records with attention to detail
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution
  • Current New York state license as Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Must have 2 years of clinical experience in an orthopedic setting
  • Strong manual therapy skills and training
  • Familiarity with EMR Software (e.g., WebPT)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, fostering collaboration and respect
