The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in acquiring (sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing) materials, goods, and services essential for the operational needs of the company. This full-time, salaried position will report directly to the Director of Operations and is based at our Cleveland-area facility. Due to the nature of our work and access restrictions, candidates must possess U.S. citizenship (No Green card or Visa) to be considered for a position at COTSWORKS, INC.

We specialize in designing and manufacturing robust optical components and subsystems capable of functioning in extreme conditions. Our products serve various markets, including commercial and military aerospace, tactical operations, oil and gas, and other industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate purchase orders and procure goods, materials, components, or services in accordance with defined cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to reduce costs or source alternative suppliers for goods and materials.
  • Utilize negotiation and procurement best practices to secure favorable contracts.
  • Conduct research and evaluate both existing and potential suppliers to ensure a continuous supply of necessary goods and materials.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to facilitate effective and timely communication.
  • Negotiate improved pricing and terms with suppliers while identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Evaluate suppliers to ensure compliance with contracts and manage performance improvement initiatives to address issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, or invoicing.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management is preferred, or equivalent education or experience is required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in purchasing, planning, and inventory management.
  • Experience in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment is preferred.
  • Experience in an electronics-related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MPS/ERP systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with standard office productivity tools and equipment (e.g., Microsoft Suite).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to interpret bills of materials.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
