Job Title: Professional Nurse

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Professional Nurse to join our team. As a Professional Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Job Summary:

The Professional Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This will involve collecting and organizing patient data, examining patients to determine their physical status, and identifying and recording their physical, psycho-social condition. The Professional Nurse will also be responsible for formulating care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team, and delivering care that communicates the worth and dignity of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Collects and organizes patient data, examines patients to determine their physical status, and identifies and records their physical, psycho-social condition.
  • Planning: Formulates care plans, collaborates with the healthcare team, and identifies patient's educational needs and coping mechanisms.
  • Implementation: Delivers care that communicates the worth and dignity of patients, adapts nursing procedures to meet individual patient needs, and involves patients and families in the care when therapeutic.
  • Evaluation: Uses current data to measure progress toward goal achievement, initiates nursing actions if patients fail to progress toward pre-set goals, and evaluates teaching done by obtaining patient or significant other verbalization of instructions.
  • Documentation: Writes admission notes, records patient data on the Nursing Care Plan, and writes Nurse's Notes demonstrating progress or lack of progress toward patient goals.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • AHA/BLS required.
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card required within 1 year of hire for RNs with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
