Facility Overview:

The facility operates continuously, employing approximately 175 individuals within a spacious 150,000 square foot environment dedicated to producing molded fiber products. Our offerings include eco-friendly egg cartons crafted from recycled materials and molded fiber containers and plates made from virgin fiber.

Role Summary:

The Plant Scheduler plays a critical role in overseeing the comprehensive management of the production schedule for the facility. This position serves as the primary liaison between the plant and corporate planning, ensuring alignment between corporate strategies and plant operations. Effective daily communication across departments is essential to achieve established objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs), which include safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, timely shipments, inventory management, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain a master production schedule on a daily basis.
  • Engage regularly with corporate planning to facilitate high-level production timing and maintenance planning.
  • Ensure clarity among all personnel involved in the production process regarding customer order requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to address and resolve scheduling-related issues.
  • Optimize the use of labor and resources to maximize cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process and manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Assist in reconciling discrepancies between output and financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate master data for packaging components, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Analyze production floor performance through input/output control reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in supply chain management or a related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage respectfully with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in production scheduling.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
  • Competence in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP and Blue Yonder is desirable.
  • Strategic thinker with robust analytical skills, capable of synthesizing complex data.
  • Change agent with strong influencing skills to drive organizational improvements.
  • Availability for on-call requests is required.
  • Forklift certification is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

This position is situated within a manufacturing environment, which entails:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, or platforms.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels exceeding 85 dBA, and other manufacturing conditions.
