Exciting Opportunity for a Dedicated Neurovascular Physician
Renown Health's Neurosciences Institute is enhancing its stroke services to deliver exceptional, state-of-the-art, evidence-based care at our South Reno facility. South Meadows Medical Center is a 140-bed institution with comprehensive support available around the clock.
We are focused on establishing a Primary Stroke Center and Advanced Neurovascular Clinic at Renown South Meadows Medical Center to cater to a growing patient base. This position offers a distinctive hybrid opportunity for a candidate eager to collaborate with a dynamic neurovascular team to develop a Primary Stroke Center that complements our organization's comprehensive stroke services. The role includes potential for administrative growth, such as the Medical Director for Stroke Services at South Meadows Medical Center. This is a chance to work closely with the existing neurovascular team, the Comprehensive Stroke Center's medical director, and the neurology department to create a new program as part of a rapidly growing, innovative stroke service.
The Neurovascular neurologist will conduct General Neuro Consult services during shifts and will also spend time in the Advanced Neurovascular Clinic, seeing vascular patients who have been discharged from our stroke centers and providing second opinions as the region's primary tertiary referral center.
The recent partnership between Renown Health and the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine provides an excellent foundation for success. Neurovascular physicians are part of Renown's Joint Faculty for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and will have the opportunity to educate Residents and Medical Students.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Standard schedule - Monday through Friday
- No overnight call at South Meadows Medical Center
- Neurovascular Clinic on-site - scheduled half days
- Collaborating with the Neurovascular team to establish a Primary Stroke Center
- Opportunity to take shifts at the comprehensive stroke center if desired
- General Neuro Consult and Stroke codes at SMMC
