Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Cloud Solutions Architect will evaluate, design, implement, and provide hands-on support for scalable, high-performance cloud assets in Azure that align with our organizational needs. This role involves planning and executing the transformation and migration of legacy infrastructure to cloud technologies to achieve optimal business outcomes in a cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Strategy Development: Create and refine a cloud strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's business goals and technology vision.
  • Architecture Design and Oversight: Establish and supervise the architecture of cloud solutions, ensuring compliance with scalability, performance, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Service Optimization: Regularly assess and enhance cloud services, configurations, and expenditures to ensure maximum efficiency and return on investment.
  • Security and Compliance Management: Implement and maintain security protocols, access controls, and compliance frameworks within the cloud environment.
  • Resource Management: Oversee cloud resources through infrastructure as code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation methodologies.
  • Virtual Machine Management: Deploy and manage cloud resources utilizing infrastructure as code and automation techniques.
  • Expertise in Azure: Demonstrate proficiency in Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, and Azure Monitor.
  • Container Management: Oversee containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar platforms.
  • Networking and Security Configuration: Set up cloud Virtual Networks, Subnets, Security Groups, and Network Security Groups to facilitate secure communication.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Establish and manage Azure Monitor/Insight and Log Analytics.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement strategies for disaster recovery and high availability to ensure business continuity.
  • Change Management: Analyze complex changes across systems and platforms, providing recommendations for implementation and resolution.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Azure architectures, configurations, and best practices to ensure consistency in cloud service adoption.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor Azure engineers and team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and communicate architectural decisions.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in supporting a medium to large Microsoft Azure enterprise within an Infrastructure department.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
  • Proficiency in Azure networking concepts and identity management.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of Azure security features and compliance standards.
  • Relevant Azure certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in migrating legacy solutions to cloud environments is a plus.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Language Proficiency: Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
