About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Artist to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara Santa Barbara. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, ensuring that every dish is presented with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients with accuracy and care.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations.
  • Operate various kitchen appliances, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, with safety and efficiency in mind.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality while preparing meals, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Serve food in proper portions onto suitable receptacles, presenting dishes with flair and appeal.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participate in food preparation and presentation meetings, contributing ideas and suggestions to improve our culinary offerings.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary education preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience, preferably in a similar culinary role.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with kitchen safety procedures, sanitation practices, and food handling regulations.
