Huntington Hospital, a renowned healthcare leader in the community, is seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse Specialist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our surgical services department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients requiring emergency procedures.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer an attractive compensation package, with an estimated hourly rate ranging from $62.88 to $73.36, depending on qualifications and experience. This includes overtime pay for 12-hour shifts, which are calculated at 1.5 times the base rate for hours worked beyond 8 hours. As a per diem employee, you will have the flexibility to choose your shifts and work independently.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Coordinate patient care across the healthcare continuum, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Supervise and manage patient care utilizing critical thinking and nursing process, discharge planning, resource identification, linking, and scheduling.
  • Monitor care delivery, advocate for patients, and evaluate outcomes to continuously improve care quality.
  • Assist other team members with meeting individual patient needs, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California and Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Possess basic computer skills and experience with computerized documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of current experience in acute care areas of expertise/equivalent service areas.
