Automation Systems Engineer - Brighton, MI

Minimum 3 Years experience as an Automation Systems Engineer

Venteon is currently seeking an Automation Systems Engineer to fill an opening with a manufacturing organization.

Key Qualifications for the Automation Systems Engineer

  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical is essential. Familiarity with EPLAN is advantageous.
  • • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs, and HMIs. Experience with other PLCs, HMIs, and operating systems is beneficial (Mitsubishi, Omron, Modicon/Telemecanique).
  • • Understanding of various drives, robotic systems, welding technologies, adhesive dispensing, and other relevant modern technologies.
  • • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in control systems engineering is preferred.
  • • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • • Experience in Robot Programming is valued. Common platforms include, but are not limited to, ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, Yaskawa/Motoman, Nachi, etc.
  • • Willingness to travel approximately 30% within North America, including Canada and Mexico.

Responsibilities of the Automation Systems Engineer

  • Accountable for the design of hardware and software, including electrical, pneumatic, PLC, HMI, Drives, etc., for automation systems.
  • • Create Bills of Material for electrical designs and update them to reflect any modifications.
  • • Collaborate with project management to ensure that all drawings, bills of materials, manuals, sequence of operations, and PLC, HMI programs are maintained accurately.
  • • Participate in project kickoff meetings, including internal and external discussions, lessons learned sessions, and project status updates.
  • • Develop and review electrical and fluid drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • • Design PLC Software programs and create HMI screens according to customer specifications.
  • • Provide suggestions for product improvements and relay customer feedback to project management.
