Probation Specialist

Join Madera County, CA as a Probation Specialist and contribute to the success of our community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing, conducting, organizing, and coordinating a variety of probation programs and services.

• Manage and coordinate probation programs and services, including counseling, educational resources, and community service providers.
• Supervise and instruct clients in various vocational, educational, and recreational activities.
• Evaluate and assess client needs and eligibility for programs, develop and document case plans, and monitor progress.
• Provide information to clients and families regarding community resources, services, and programs.
• Manage and oversee facilitators and participants in the operation of probation programs.
• Coordinate with local interest groups and agencies to create community awareness of evidence-based programs.

• Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or a related field.
• Two years of experience in a criminal justice, substance abuse treatment, child welfare, or related organization.
• Valid California driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the County's vehicle insurance program.
• Successful completion of a POST-approved comprehensive background investigation.
