About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated Systems Development Engineers to join our team at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and operating large-scale software systems that power our cloud computing platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software systems that meet the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize system improvements
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve system reliability, availability, and performance
  • Work closely with our operations team to ensure smooth system operation and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices and standards for software development
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or Perl
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or a related field
  • Experience operating 24x7 high-availability, distributed software applications and performance tuning software applications and optimizing fleet utilization
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals and experience with monitoring frameworks such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, or Elastic
