Job Responsibilities- Assesses the physical condition of a group of patients by performing physical examinations and obtaining medical histories.
- Formulates the medical plan and prognosis based on patient's condition.
- Consults with physician(s) regarding patient health care plans and treatment.
- Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
- Performs selected invasive procedures for therapeutic and/or diagnostic reasons within scope of validated competence.
- Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatment and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy.
- Complies with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiates and maintains required records and legal documents.
- Active participation in developing and implementing quality improvement measures.
- Counsels patients, families and significant others about health and illness and promotes health maintenance.
- Evaluates, plans, implements and re-evaluates the care of individuals requiring emergency measures.
This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on-campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the work site if they are healthy and without COVID-19 symptoms.
Requirements- Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.
- Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
- Utah State prescriptive privileges.
- Licensure is obtained by completing a Master's degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master's degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination.
Current APC rotation: Week one: 4 days inpatient service, Week two: 3 days inpatient service, Week three: 4 days OR, Week four: 7 night call shifts (differential paid for these shifts), Week five: Off.
