ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Casualty B.I. Claims Specialist, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting comprehensive investigations of bodily injury claims to ascertain liability and evaluate the severity of injuries.
- Gathering and scrutinizing medical records, police reports, witness statements, and other pertinent documentation.
- Evaluating the legitimacy of claims and determining applicable coverage limits and policy relevance.
- Identifying high-exposure claims for litigation discussions.
- Collaborating with legal teams and external counsel to oversee litigated claims.
- Preparing and working alongside the legal team for court proceedings, depositions, and arbitration sessions.
- Partnering with attorneys to formulate and execute effective litigation strategies.
- Negotiating settlements with claimants, their legal representatives, or third-party claimants.
- Analyzing medical reports, treatment plans, and other documentation to ascertain fair and just settlement amounts.
- Ensuring that settlements align with policy terms and legal standards.
- Maintaining communication with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, and other relevant parties to provide updates on claim status and resolution efforts.
- Addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests for information promptly and professionally.
- Staying informed on industry regulations, legal precedents, and best practices related to bodily injury claims.
- Ensuring all claims handling activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Bilingual candidates are preferred.
An adjuster's license is mandatory.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing bodily injury claims or a similar role.
Comprehensive knowledge of property and casualty regulations, industry practices, and legal frameworks.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in relevant claims management software and tools.
