Job Summary

The IT Systems Administrator role at Smiths Interconnect Inc. is a critical position that requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to administer and maintain the company's IT platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing end-user support to over 300 users in a team-based environment, with a focus on collaboration and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain end-user computing platforms and deployed applications.
  • Implement and maintain numerous hardware platforms and applications.
  • Desktop and notebook deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and other system issues as they arise.
  • Manage and resolve Tier 1 IT support tickets using Kaseya.
  • Replace and upgrade outdated systems when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure smooth operation.
  • Research and recommend new approaches to improve processes.
  • Ensure documentation is up to date and comprehensive.
  • Assist in the crafting and enforcing of policies related to endpoint functionality.
  • Administer Microsoft Office 365 (GCC environment).
  • Support remote workforce.
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT and Security teams to quickly resolve issues.
  • Assist with and lead endpoint-focused projects.
  • Apply analytical skills to solve complex technical problems and recommend solutions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with company staff, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, change, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience with a Windows Active Directory (AD) environment, to include a solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and GPOs.
  • Assist with platform modernization, with an emphasis on Windows 11 and S2022.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle, and Agile knowledge a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL a plus.
  • Familiarity with administrating Zscaler, AzureAD, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Kaseya, and Okta.
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
  • Patient and professional demeanor, with a can-do attitude.
  • Leads by example, serving as a role model for employees by maintaining a positive, productive, and approachable presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact successfully with a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professional integrity and honesty as well as personal credibility.
  • Complies with and ensures department compliance with Company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly, and occasionally lift 0-30 pounds.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical issues both orally and in writing.
  • Availability outside of normal working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in the IT industry, focused on systems administration and end-user support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Systems or relevant area of expertise desired.

Security:

  • U.S. Person required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). May be required to obtain a security clearance.
