Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Registered Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. As a key member of our Sleep Lab, you will be responsible for conducting overnight physiologic studies, collecting vital signs, and ensuring proper interpretation by the physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct sleep center diagnostics, including patient hookups and overnight physiologic studies-polysomnograms (PSG)
  • Collect vital signs and other pertinent information to ensure proper interpretation by the physician
  • Review existing information in the patient record and examine orders and protocols for study
  • Recognize sleep/wake or respiratory complaints, sleep patterns, and potential need for treatment intervention during testing
  • Communicate with ordering physician or clinic to clarify unclear or inappropriate orders
  • Perform operational checks and calibrations prior to initiating the study
  • Ensure the accuracy and safety of instruments in use during the patient recording
  • Recognize normal and abnormal physiologic waveforms and maintain accurate and precise documentation
  • Prepare final reports for physician review
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technologist
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent
  • Maintain current BLS certification
  • A minimum of 6 months of clinical experience is preferred
