About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team at EAD Management Services Inc. as a key member of our Engineering & Automation department. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing electrical control systems for our clients in the food, pharmaceutical, and parcel sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: You will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems, including PLC/DCS based control systems, instrument design, and programming.
  • Project Management: You will work closely with project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Client Interaction: You will interact with clients, vendors, and construction administrators to ensure that their needs are met and that projects are delivered to their satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise: You will be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry standards, and for applying this knowledge to design and develop electrical control systems.
  • Team Collaboration: You will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure that projects are delivered to the required quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred; and/or four years of service with the military, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with automation, electrical controls, PLC/DCS based control systems (maintenance and troubleshooting), AC/DC drives, power distribution, simulation, using 480/120Vac and 24VDC electrical systems/subsystems and instrumentation.
  • Skills: Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, and U.L. codes preferred; strong analytical and organizational abilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Working Conditions
  • Office Environment: You will work in an office environment, with occasional travel to client sites.
  • Physical Demands: You will be required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time, and to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day.
  • Safety Precautions: You will be required to follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
