Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Operations to join our team at Light a Single Candle Foundation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization
  • Manage cash flow and make recommendations to maintain adequate reserves
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports and statements to stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management
  • Provide financial guidance and support to other departments and teams
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and laws and ensure compliance
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and other financial software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business administration or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis software
