POSITION SUMMARY
The Practical Nurse is responsible for executing tasks and duties within the scope of patient assessment, health education, counseling, and delivering supportive and restorative care under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
Rochester Regional Health is a compassionate, not-for-profit community healthcare provider dedicated to delivering outstanding healthcare services. Our facility offers a variety of essential programs, including emergency services, acute care, and critical care, making us a vital health resource.
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Community Health Facilities
DEPARTMENT: Various Clinics
SCHEDULE: 8-hour shifts; Daytime
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Required: Completion of a practical nursing program.
- Knowledge of medication administration and potential side effects.
- Preferred: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current, unrestricted New York State practical nursing license.
- BLS certification within three months of employment.
- Preferred: One year of post-licensure experience as a practical nurse.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather patient information for comprehensive care planning, including vital signs, allergies, medications, and medical history.
- Identify and communicate practice-related issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment to ensure patient safety.
- Support the healthcare team’s initiatives and promote excellent customer service.
- Engage in projects as assigned and collaborate with teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Document patient care accurately and prepare necessary charts for provider review.
- Deliver routine nursing care and assist with procedures under the guidance of licensed providers.
- Utilize medical supplies efficiently to manage practice expenses.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care and compliance with standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $30.21 per hour
The listed base pay range reflects the potential base pay for successful applicants and may be adjusted in the future based on various factors including experience and qualifications.
