Painter II

Cedar Fair is seeking a skilled Painter II to join our team at Carowinds. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the park's exterior and interior surfaces are beautifully maintained and protected.

• Perform routine painting and wall covering tasks to maintain the park's buildings, structures, and fixtures.
• Operate a variety of equipment, including vehicles, forklifts, pressure washers, and spray machines.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and coatings as needed.
• Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces to ensure they are safe and visually appealing.
• Apply wood finishes and determine, cut, and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls as requested.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of Volatile Organic Compound usage, spray volume, and time spent on tasks.
• Interact with various stakeholders, including supervisors, managers, staff, guests, vendors, and contractors.
• Read blueprints and drawings to execute assigned tasks and order paint supplies and materials.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment and report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Meet scheduling requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods, to meet business needs.

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• 4-6 years of experience in painting or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet and use a stepladder up to 40 feet.
• Ability to pass a mandatory drug test and background check.

Candidates should have knowledge of painting methods and techniques, as well as the ability to understand and follow instructions and prepare detailed layouts.

Related vocational training or experience in sign painting, graphic art, and fabricating and installing signs is preferred.
