Pediatric Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Care Specialist to join our team at Urgent Care for Kids. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Triage patients upon arrival and communicate with the provider when the patient is ready, providing a brief summary of symptoms and any abnormal vitals.
- Document and summarize visits in the EMR system (eMDs) and assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, and phlebotomy.
- Administer and document medication as directed by the provider, prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms, and obtain labs and call back patients with results.
- Provide patient education at the end of the visit and address any follow-up questions, position patients for radiology procedures, and remove all artifacts (training provided by UC4K).
- Handle front office responsibilities, including insurance verification, patient registration, answering phones, and performing monetary transactions, and perform any other duties as assigned.
- Passion for working with children and experience in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years, with a minimum duration of 6 months.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a Texas license and BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by the American Heart Association).
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
