Job Summary

The Air Education and Training Command is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Educational Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Child Development Programs, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and organizing activities for children, as well as providing leadership and mentorship to junior employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement activity plans that stimulate and sustain the interest of children, contributing to their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Observe and evaluate each child's health and development, reporting on and maintaining records of observations.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to junior employees, promoting effective working relationships and communication.
  • Assist the Assistant Director/Director with the operations of the Child Development Center, ensuring the safety and hygiene of children.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems.
  • Knowledge of child development regulations, procedures, and processes.
  • Knowledge of early child development theory, methodology, and practices relating to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Ability to lead employees, providing direction and guidance.
  • Ability to develop creative and innovative activity and special program plans.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Child Development Center regulations, programs, and operations.
  • Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with others and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
