Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of medical laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely results. Your knowledge of regulatory requirements and commitment to quality and safety will be essential in maintaining our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to established procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to medications, procedures, infection prevention, and fall prevention.
  • Report safety hazards, accidents, and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, perform and document quality control, and recognize and resolve variances from normal.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and minor repairs to instrumentation.
  • Process specimens for tracking and transport as needed.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree or higher required.
  • Must possess the credentials to perform the job duties as a MLT and be registered with or currently eligible for registry with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or NCA or its equivalent.
  • Must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
