RPh on the Go is seeking a skilled Outpatient Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy and quality of medication dispensing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Management
- Accurately review and dispense prescription medications to patients.
- Verify medication orders for correctness, including dosage, interactions, and contraindications.
- Provide medication therapy management, including assessing patient needs and adjusting therapies as necessary.
- Patient Education and Counseling
- Educate patients about their medications, including proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions with other drugs or foods.
- Address patient questions and concerns regarding their health and medications.
- Offer advice on over-the-counter (OTC) products and general health and wellness.
- Collaborative Care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication regimens.
- Participate in patient care team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and medication profiles.
- Process and verify insurance claims and handle medication-related billing issues.
- Manage and oversee the pharmacy's inventory, including ordering, stocking, and ensuring proper storage of medications.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the dispensing of medications and pharmacy operations.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and standards, including proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Quality Assurance
- Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of medication dispensing processes.
- Implement and follow safety procedures to prevent medication errors and ensure patient safety.
- Patient Care and Advocacy
- Advocate for patients' medication needs and provide personalized care.
- Monitor patient adherence to medication regimens and follow up as necessary to address non-compliance.
Requirements
- NM Pharmacist license
- 1+ year or more of recent experience
- Available to work full time and cover all call-outs, vacations, and holidays
