Job Summary

RPh on the Go is seeking a skilled Outpatient Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy and quality of medication dispensing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Medication Management
    • Accurately review and dispense prescription medications to patients.
    • Verify medication orders for correctness, including dosage, interactions, and contraindications.
    • Provide medication therapy management, including assessing patient needs and adjusting therapies as necessary.
  2. Patient Education and Counseling
    • Educate patients about their medications, including proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions with other drugs or foods.
    • Address patient questions and concerns regarding their health and medications.
    • Offer advice on over-the-counter (OTC) products and general health and wellness.
  3. Collaborative Care
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication regimens.
    • Participate in patient care team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
  4. Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and medication profiles.
    • Process and verify insurance claims and handle medication-related billing issues.
    • Manage and oversee the pharmacy's inventory, including ordering, stocking, and ensuring proper storage of medications.
  5. Regulatory Compliance
    • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the dispensing of medications and pharmacy operations.
    • Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and standards, including proper documentation and record-keeping.
  6. Quality Assurance
    • Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of medication dispensing processes.
    • Implement and follow safety procedures to prevent medication errors and ensure patient safety.
  7. Patient Care and Advocacy
    • Advocate for patients' medication needs and provide personalized care.
    • Monitor patient adherence to medication regimens and follow up as necessary to address non-compliance.


Requirements

  1. NM Pharmacist license
  2. 1+ year or more of recent experience
  3. Available to work full time and cover all call-outs, vacations, and holidays
