As a Behavior Support Specialist with the Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis, you will have the opportunity to profoundly influence the lives of youth and teenagers facing developmental challenges such as Autism by executing tailored intervention strategies, fostering skill enhancement, and delivering the necessary resources and support for our clients to reach their objectives.

Utilizing the evidence-based methodologies of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you will offer individualized assistance in various environments, employing our positive reinforcement techniques to promote desired behaviors and improve play, self-care, cognitive, social, and communication abilities.

With over 40 years of experience, the Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis has been dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualized treatment for children and their families. We take immense pride in our work and continue to champion the community we serve.

Comprehensive, hands-on training is provided, including observation sessions with a supervisor.

Opportunities for professional growth are both COMMON and ENCOURAGED.

WAGE RANGE: $20-28 per hour.

HOURS: Full & Part Time Positions Available.

Full Time: 30+ hours per week.

Monday-Friday 8:00am- 6:30pm +1⁄2 weekend day.

Part Time Schedule Options:

Monday-Friday 8am-3pm.

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8am-3pm.

or Tuesday/Thursday 8am-3pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting individualized direct ABA therapy sessions in educational or home settings.
  • Supporting the client throughout daily activities and academic tasks.
  • Instructing adaptive play, self-care, cognitive, social, and communication skills.
  • Promoting the practice of desired behaviors through positive reinforcement.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to monitor client progress.
  • Creating a safe, supportive environment where children and adolescents can express themselves.
  • Advocating for individuals with disabilities across various settings.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of ethical practices.

Qualifications

  • Authorization to work in the US.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Covid-19 Vaccination (including recent vaccine or at least 1 booster).
  • Negative TB test results.
  • Access to a reliable computer and internet on a daily basis.
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and willingness to travel.
  • Genuine interest and enthusiasm for working with youth and teenagers, including the ability to engage in playful activities.
  • Patience and empathy in addressing challenging behaviors.
  • Commitment to our positive reinforcement approach, our mission, and the highest ethical standards.
  • Reliability and dedication to working consistently with our clients.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds, walk, run, bend, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, stand for extended periods, and engage in active physical activities with children and adolescents.
  • Willingness to work with clients of all ages (2-23), all behaviors (including aggressive or destructive behaviors), and all support needs (including hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance).
