About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Morristown Medical Center. As a key member of our Anesthesiology department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our anesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia technician services to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider.
  • Perform duties under direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider, including preparing and maintaining patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Support routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Perform first-level maintenance on anesthesia equipment, including cleaning, sterilizing, and disinfecting.
  • Maintain anesthesia medications, supplies, and equipment according to established schedules and protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems, taking into account age-specific issues related to patient care.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment, reporting defects or malfunctions as needed.
  • Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Document and maintain preventative maintenance and quality records.
  • Assist with transportation of patients and laboratory specimens as necessary.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
  • Graduate from an approved ASATT school preferred.
  • American Heart Association CPR certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • 2 years of healthcare experience as an Anesthesia Technician preferred.
  • Certification from American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologist school preferred.
