Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Supply Chain to join our team at Albany Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the supply chain operations of the Supply Chain Surgical Services Department, ensuring the efficient and effective management of supplies, implants, and capital equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day supply chain operations, including managing staff assignments, hiring, and employee reviews.
  • Develop and report department productivity KPIs, providing information to OR Leadership to help with the accuracy of preference cards.
  • Assist hospital administrators and Perioperative leadership with requested reports and identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Revenue Cycle to ensure supplies and implants are loaded appropriately in EMR and ERP systems.
  • Coordinate and interface with Supply Chain Sourcing and Contracting for cost savings opportunities.
  • Identify standardization and utilization opportunities in conjunction with clinical perioperative leadership.
  • Define business requirements for supplies, implants, and capital to allow contracting to solicit bids appropriately.
  • Right-size the inventory within perioperative services to ensure applicable inventory is available for physician and clinical use.
  • Drive the value analysis process to support the contracting and inventory management process.
  • Ensure vendors are abiding by all Albany Medical Center policies.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in health or business is preferred. Bachelor's in nursing and/or business is required.
  • Previous OR Business Manager and/or hospital supply chain experience required.
  • 5-7 years in health care, involving benchmarking of data.
  • Demonstrated progressive management experience, minimum 3-5 years.
  • Knowledge of Workday and Epic is preferred, or knowledge of a similar material management system is required.
