Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Molecular Technologist III to join our team at Sonic Reference Laboratory, Inc. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for performing complex clinical sample testing, analyzing and reviewing test results, and maintaining proficiency on various molecular methods and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing and Analysis: Perform high complexity clinical assays according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure specimen integrity by adhering to laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Adhere to departmental policies and procedures to include quality control, quality assurance, and safety, and ensure that all testing is performed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Maintain analytical instruments, schedule authorized routine service, and maintain instrument documentation to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Data Entry and Management: Enter and verify data within the clinical laboratory information management system (LIMS) and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of testing and quality control results.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training of personnel and competency assessments, and provide technical feedback to the Lab Supervisor regarding workflow issues.
Requirements
  • Education: B.S. or M.S. degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Certified as Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Molecular Biology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to understand and follow implemented written procedures and verbal instructions, excellent attention to detail, and ability to collect and analyze data using graphs, tables, charts, and mathematical calculations.
Work Environment

This position requires working in an indoor temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to biological and chemical hazards. All safety equipment and personal protective equipment are provided.

Physical Requirements

This position requires some lifting, up to 50 lbs, frequent carrying of objects up to 10 lbs, and some pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
