Echocardiogram Specialist

Tenet-Alabama is seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join their team in Homewood, Alabama.

As an Echo Technologist, you will be responsible for performing Echocardiograms using a departmental protocol for obtaining images. You will assist with TEE's and stress testing, providing images that support the physician's ability to diagnose patients appropriately. You will identify problems and implement appropriate interventions, including reporting critical values. You will set priorities for completion of studies based on acuity, patient preference, and/or the coordination of care with nursing and other ancillary services.

• Perform Echocardiograms using a departmental protocol for obtaining images.
• Assist with TEE's and stress testing, providing images that support the physician's ability to diagnose patients appropriately.
• Identify problems and implement appropriate interventions, including reporting critical values.
• Set priorities for completion of studies based on acuity, patient preference, and/or the coordination of care with nursing and other ancillary services.
• Provide EKG and Holter Services when Echo workload permits.
• Obtain EKGs that reflect appropriate lead placement, minimal artifact, and correct patient information.
• Set up and scan Holter Monitors, providing tracings that support the physician's ability to diagnose patients appropriately.

• Education - Required: Graduate of accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography school, or at least 6 months of clinical experience.
• Experience - Required: 6 months in clinical setting. Preferred: 2 years.
• Certification- Required: Registry eligible and BLS. Preferred: RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
