Tree Trimmer Crew Chief

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tree Trimmer Crew Chief to join our Electric Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising tree trimming operations, ensuring safety and efficiency while coordinating activities with the crew.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assist in tree trimming operations, providing instruction and support to team members.
• Plan and review work activities, maintaining operational standards.
• Cut and grind trees, clear brush, and fell dead or hazardous trees using chainsaws, ropes, and aerial buckets.
• Climb trees using ladders or climbing gear for trimming and line clearing.
• Operate and feed chippers, as well as heavy equipment such as aerial buckets, dump trucks, and hydraulic pruning equipment.
• Review and process various records and reports, including tree trimming work orders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and the public.
• Support electric department personnel during storm restoration efforts.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general maintenance or tree trimming.
• Valid SC driver's license and CDL.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of machinery and equipment used in tree trimming and maintenance.
• Demonstrates the ability to add/subtract totals, multiplying/dividing and determining time.
• Ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape.
• Required to differentiate colors, shades or color, and visual acuity to determine depth.
