Job Summary:
Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking a qualified psychiatrist to provide short-term locum coverage at a university hospital in Iowa. This opportunity is ideal for a physician looking to gain experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct professional routine and emergency examinations on patients
- Provide in-patient psychiatric treatment to patients
- Make recommendations for the treatment of behavioral or psychiatric disorders
- Make electronic entries in patient medical records
- Comply with all applicable Federal Regulations, as well as Department and Facility Policies and Procedures
- Provide assistance to the physician(s) with both routine and emergency procedures
- Document treatment provided and tests administered in appropriate formats on required forms on each visit to the facility
- Ensure availability to staff by telephone, voice mail, e-mail, pager and intra-facility mail, as necessary
Requirements:
- Active Iowa license
- Must hold MD or DO degrees and have completed a psychiatry residency
- Minimum 3 years experience
