**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Specialist to join our team at Startech Networks Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, performing testing and coordination, and working with vendors to ensure the smooth operation of our network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Troubleshooting: Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify problem areas and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance Requests: Create and deploy maintenance requests for after-hours network augmentations, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Network Control Center (NCC) and Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to ensure the overall health of the network.
  • Trouble Resolution: Track trouble resolutions, provide ticket updates, and share information with customers to ensure transparency and satisfaction.
  • Testing and Coordination: Run tests, check processes, and assist with repair coordination activities to ensure network uptime.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors to deploy new network equipment and services, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  • Network Monitoring: Monitor the network for issues and alert the NCC when problems are identified, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Scripting: Run scripts across the network to identify inconsistencies and required updates, ensuring network stability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a service provider role, with a strong background in network operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with SONET/DWDM network configurations, experience with Ciena 6500, Infinera, and Alcatel PSS-32/16, and ability to create and modify DWDM/SONET services (DS3 to 100GIG).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to adapt to a changing environment.
