Transportation Specialist

**Job Summary:**
Sheridan County School District #2 is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Transportation Specialist to join our team. This part-time position involves transporting students in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport authorized students following assigned route schedules.
- Obey all traffic laws and safely operate a school bus.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
- Report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Keep the assigned bus clean.
- Check the bus before each operation for mechanical defects and report any problems to the proper authority.
- Inspect the daily route schedule; follow planned routes and time schedule.
- Complete any necessary paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Report all accidents to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain a CDL with a P, S, and Air Brake endorsement within one month of hire.
Benefits:
This part-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $17.55 to $20.55 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, eligible staff move one step on the wage schedule annually, except in those years when the Board of Trustees sets a wage freeze due to budget constraints.
The selected candidate will be expected to work Monday through Friday, 2-4 hours per day.
