Position Overview

As a Lead Engineer in Composite Manufacturing within the Aerospace sector, you will collaborate with a talented team that is at the forefront of innovation. Our organization is a worldwide leader in aerospace production, and we are in search of a highly qualified professional to contribute to our manufacturing excellence. This role is crucial for advancing our operational capabilities. You will engage in a variety of stimulating projects that significantly impact the aviation and defense industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead the design, development, and execution of composite manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Leverage your proficiency in SolidWorks and similar software to produce precise engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency, minimize costs, and refine processes.
  • Establish and implement process control methods and protocols within manufacturing settings.
  • Evaluate manufacturing workflows, facility layouts, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with design teams to ensure manufacturability of concepts and compliance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams to address production and quality challenges.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and clients on the formulation of new product specifications.
  • Engage in the development and execution of cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Over 7 years of experience in composite manufacturing engineering within the aerospace sector.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks, Catia, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in process engineering, GD&T, and manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and other aerospace quality regulations.
  • Proven track record in driving process enhancements and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tooling, technical drawings, and design principles.
  • Experience in the aviation and defense industries is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and capable of obtaining a security clearance.
