Position Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing drug distribution and specialty pharmacy operations for a diverse patient population at PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy. This role is crucial in establishing and managing safe and effective protocols for specialty pharmacy policies related to patient care, while also providing essential clinical drug information to support patients and their healthcare teams. Additionally, the Pharmacist supervises pharmacy technicians and other support staff on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify prescription drug orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Engage with prescriber offices for order clarification and coordinate care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Communicate with patients regarding prescribed therapies to enhance compliance and adherence.
  • Facilitate prior authorizations and assist patients in enrolling in financial assistance programs.
  • Ensure accuracy of prescription orders during the fulfillment process.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in their daily tasks.
  • Perform clinical pharmacist duties during on-call hours on a rotating schedule, which may include transporting products.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • 2-4 years of experience in specialty pharmacy.

Work Environment:

This role is situated in a well-lit mail order distribution pharmacy setting, utilizing pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies regularly.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and effectively use a computer and barcode scanner. Proper personal protective equipment, including gloves, eye protection, and face masks, must be utilized as necessary.
