### Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist I at UTMB Health, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring optimal quality and correctly marked images for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.

### Key Responsibilities

* Practice proper entries and records in Radiology Information System, PACS, and other systems
* Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by using two patient identifiers, accurately assessing patients needs and providing patient education
* Operate computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images
* Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality and correctly marked images
* Prepare patients films for interpretation by radiologist and practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity
* Practice safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care
* Instruct students on clinical radiographic skills
* Apply the professions code of ethics in all aspects of practice
* Perform exams in a level I trauma environment
* Attend departmental in-services
* Record and monitor patient radiation dose
* Upload images to PACS
* Troubleshoot equipment failures and report such failures to the appropriate department, and notify his/her manager
* Maintain HIPPA compliance by protecting patient privacy
* Maintain constant Joint Commission and/or ACA Readiness
* Work in a high volume, stressful environment
* Adhere to internal controls and reporting structure
* Perform related duties as required

### Equipment and Environment

* Standard office equipment; radiation producing equipment and digital equipment
* Standard clinical setting. Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment

### Requirements

* Associates degree or radiologic graduate from an accredited radiography program, ARRT(R) registered or registry eligible, and Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board
* Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience
