Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Trauma Registry Specialist to manage all aspects of trauma data operations. This role involves maintaining data quality, submitting reports, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, review, and enter trauma cases into the registry from pre-hospital, ER, inpatient, and autopsy records.
  • Abstract and code trauma data following ACS standards and internal trauma program requirements.
  • Analyze trauma records to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and generate reports for internal committees.
  • Collaborate with state and regional agencies to ensure accurate data submission and maintain hospital accreditation as a Verified Trauma Center.
  • Perform routine data validation checks to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the trauma registry.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate Degree in Health Information Technology/Management, or equivalent trauma registry experience.
  • Required Certifications: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or completion of ATS Trauma Registrar Course and/or AIS Scoring Course.
  • Experience: Trauma Registry Management, ICD-10 Coding, familiarity with Epic, Cerner, and TraumaBase systems.
