About the Job

At Solvenow Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Substation Design department.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Function as a technical lead substation design engineer, overseeing the development of electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design and physical design.
  • Actively participate in management, project scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings.
  • Interface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • QA/QC projects and mentor junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • A minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle records searches.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • Substation Design experience, including physical and/or protection & controls.
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control of substation design projects.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Written Communications, Drive For Results, Priority Setting, Planning, Delegation, Directing Others, Conflict Management, Informing, Listening, Dealing with Ambiguity, and Building Effective Teams.
Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Continuing to learn and apply independent knowledge and interpretation about departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and policies and procedures relative to assigned tasks.
  • Consistently and independently applying knowledge and complying with quality program relative to assigned tasks.
  • Preparing complex engineering deliverables, performing research, and developing recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Managing assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Actively coordinating with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
