We are currently seeking a Forensic Psychologist for a contract position. This role involves working within the legal framework to provide psychological evaluations.
Position Overview:
The Forensic Psychologist will be responsible for conducting court-mandated psychological assessments, which include evaluations of competency to stand trial, mental state at the time of the alleged offense, diminished capacity, and commitment evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive forensic evaluations as directed.
- Document all interactions in the medical records accurately.
- Prepare and submit forensic reports to the court within specified timelines.
- Utilize appropriate risk assessment tools and psychological testing as required.
- Evaluate individuals for commitment and complete necessary documentation for involuntary treatment.
- Regularly meet with patients adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and maintain thorough records of these interactions.
- May be required to provide testimony in court regarding evaluation findings.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a doctorate in psychology from an accredited institution and hold the necessary licensure or temporary permit to practice as a psychologist. Certification from the relevant division for conducting forensic evaluations is also required, with renewal every two fiscal years.
