Role Overview: The Tax Information Reporting (TIR) division is integral to managing comprehensive client tax responsibilities. This includes validating tax certifications, overseeing withholding, and ensuring compliance with various reporting standards such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a centralized team of over 30 tax professionals across multiple Citi Service Centers and legacy sites.
- Manage tax reporting processes for diverse financial products, primarily focusing on U.S. Personal Banking.
- Serve as a recognized expert in tax information reporting, designing efficient processes and driving necessary organizational changes.
- Establish and enforce policies and controls to ensure compliance with U.S. Information Reporting and FATCA/CRS regulations.
- Facilitate effective communication and reporting to stakeholders, co-chairing relevant forums with business partners.
- Enhance operational efficiency through process reviews and reengineering initiatives.
- Lead audit interactions with regulatory bodies and internal audit teams.
- Contribute to technology strategies that support tax reporting requirements.
- Oversee risk management, including control design and issue resolution.
- Drive employee engagement and talent development initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders on new business opportunities and product approvals.
- Maintain adherence to budgetary and productivity goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years in leadership roles related to U.S. tax information reporting, with at least 12 years in the financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. tax reporting regulations for both U.S. and non-U.S. persons.
- Familiarity with IRS forms and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of FATCA regulations and international reporting standards.
- Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
- Proven track record in process design, reengineering, and automation.
- Experience in project management and leading organizational transitions.
- Proficient in standard office technology and advanced software skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
